THE FAQ’s

IS REUNION ‘85 A REAL REUNION?

Reunion ‘85 has all the fun of a real reunion, but it is not—at this show, you can choose an identity (or not) and join your fellow “alumni classmates” as you laugh, groove to the music, and play the night away.

IN CONCEPT, WHAT IS REUNION ‘85?

We think of Reunion ‘85 as “experiential entertainment”. Reunion ‘85 is both a musical concert and an interactive show in an immersive environment. We use nostalgia, spectacle, humor, and music to unite audiences in an experience of joy, connection, and celebration.

WHAT IS THE REUNION “EXPERIENCE”?

Choose your own adventure! On your arrival, the friendly “Reunion Committee” will help you choose a name tag and meet your fellow “alumni classmates.” Inside the reunion, a comedic host will guide you and your classmates through the evening—and there will be jokes, games, and a trip down memory lane. You might choose to meet people at your table, or your old high school friends, or members of the clubs you belonged to. Even if you don’t want to interact—tie your laces, because no reunion is complete without a dance party!

HOW MANY IDENTITIES ARE THERE TO CHOOSE FROM?

PLENTY! The “Reunion Committee” can guide you into finding the right you for you.

AM I REQUIRED TO INTERACT?

Absolutely not—you get to choose your own experience! You will never be required or pressured to do anything. As an “entry level” interactive/immersive show, audience participation is encouraged—and maybe you would like to clap to the music or do “the wave” like you might as a sports game. Only the most adventurous guests will find themselves featured in the performance…but only with their consent, of course.

HOW MUCH MUSIC WILL I HEAR?

Each Reunion Experience will feature anywhere from 30 to 40 iconic, beloved, chart-topping hits in each show played by a live band and incredible singers.  For music lovers, we estimate that live music is playing for approximately 80% of the show.

IS THE MUSIC LIVE OR RECORDED?

Live! Live! Live!

IS THERE ALCOHOL AVAILABLE?

It’s a reunion—alcohol is available for purchase!

DO YOU HAVE DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS?

Yes of course! Reunion ‘85 is often enjoyed with a group of friends, or as a family. We also accommodate bachelor and bachelorette parties, church groups, and…pretty much any group. Let us know how many seats you need!

IS REUNION APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES?

Reunion ‘85 welcomes families and children of all ages. We’ve frequently seen the joy of an older generation introducing a younger members of their family to the music of “their” era, and our great music, a dance party, pom poms and finger lights create a fun and uplifting atmosphere for all ages. Reunion ‘85 does not feature explicit language, however there is some innuendo and situational comedy, which best suits audiences ages 10+.

Talent Submissions

We are always searching for great talent—especially comedic hosts, musicians, and vocalists.

THE SHOW

Reunion ‘85 is a live, interactive show. On arrival, in the pre-show, guests choose a name tag—this new identity transforms them into “alumni”: they become Herbert Hoover High’s Class of 1985. When they walk into the venue, they are seated at round banquet tables according to their high school clubs and activities and social groups—Chess Team, Student Council, Pom Squad, etc. Two dynamic hosts guide the alumni audience through a variety of improvisational, interactive, comedic, musical, and nostalgic segments. Throughout the show, a live band of eight musicians and vocalists expertly recreate chart-topping hits of the 1980s. As a brand of “experiential entertainment”, REUNION uses nostalgia to unite audiences in an evening of connection and celebration.
